Meeting Alan Cumming at 'The Adventures of Honey & Leon' Book Reading

Actor/Author Alan Cumming and artist Grant Shaffer were part of a special reading for their book "The Adventures of Honey & Leon" during an event hosted by TheMoms and Stop & Shop at AppleSeeds.

Before reading the book, Alan shared a bit about the idea behind the story and who Honey & Leon really are. Their dogs!

Alan and Grant wrote this story as a tribute to their own dogs, who have passed away, based on their conversations about what Honey and Leon did while they traveled.

After the reading Alan and Grant did a quick Q&A and spoke about the importance of pet adoption from shelters and how one of their dogs was a shelter rescue pet. And when you read the book, you can see the dogs were very loved and loved their masters also.

Matter of fact Honey & Leon loved their masters so much that they followed them! Which leads to a humorous adventure kids and their families will enjoy reading.

Honey and Leon are rescue mutts who love their dads very much. But their dads often have to go away on glamorous and important business, which worries the dogs. Honey and Leon are done staying home and fretting—they’re off on a dad-protecting adventure!

Careful to remain incognito, the two pups shadow their dads on a trip across the sea, keeping them out of danger at every turn! How did they survive without Honey and Leon’s protection for this long?!
