To launch Bounty’s 3rd Annual "Make a Clean Difference" pledge Kimora Lee Simmons-Hounsou joined children in Harlem's Alain L. Locke Elementary School to help clean their classroom.

After helping the children clean Kimora explained why she teamed up with Bounty, how things are between her and ex husband Russell Simmons, and what she hopes her show Life in the Fab Lane does for families

“I’m thrilled to be able to join Bounty in bringing a little bit of ‘fabulosity’ to the Alaine L. Locke school in Harlem as part of ‘We Love Our School’ Week,” said model, mogul and mom Kimora Lee Simmons. “It’s a thrill to be able to help improve the learning environment for these students, and I hope that parents and teachers will get involved to better the classrooms in their own communities.”

As a mom with 3 children, Kimora talked about how all children need a good education, since it is the key to success. To ensure that children need clean and safe classrooms. Kimora shared that her family is her center so she understand that all parents want the best for their children.

When asked about her break from the Phat Farm brand, Kimora replied that it was an amicable separation of business. She can Russell are still friends and do their best to co-parent their children. Kimora is now busy with her own KLS brand that includes a relaunch of her site KLS.com which includes blogs about her life and family.

Kimora also shared about her reality show " Life in the Fab Lane" and what you won't we see on her show. Kimora wants the show to entertain families and those who love fashion. While her show can be edgy, she hopes it can also be fun and inspirational. You won't see any boobies, butts or nakes body parts (unfashionable), bad language or disrespectful children.

Kimora joked that if her daughter's ever out out of hand we'd be watching a show about her daughter's dismiss. While she shares about her family life it's not the focus of the show. Kimora focuses on showing what life's like while running a business and juggling a family. It's all about proving that anyone can live a life of fabulosity.



While Kimora Lee Simmons-Hounsou is certainly a celebrity, she took the time to go to different classroom's to greet the kids. I could see that this wasn't just another pr opportunity for her. For those that don't know Kimora background, she was once just a regular public school child like the children at Alain L. Locke Elementary School. It was great to see her come out to the Harlem community to encourage and inspire the next generation. I heard through the grapevine she might be back to be principal for the day. Her first order of business. No more fake nails! Even in elementary school Kimora believe you should practice fabulosity.

Since the average American student spends 5.5 hours a day in a classroom it's key that their learning in a clean environment. 94% of teachers believe students learn better in a clean classroom. While teachers and parents do their part by providing cleaning supplies on the first day of school more help is needed.


Dedicated to helping K-8 educators teach uninhibited by mess, Bounty announced “We Love Our School” Week, a national week of school cleaning. Bounty made a pledge to provide clean, creative learning environments for children nationwide and is providing Clean Kits with paper towels and cleaning supplies to 1,000 schools this week.

Kimora Lee Simmons-Hounsou has joined Bounty to mobilize more than 25,000 parents and community volunteers across the country to improve the state of more than 2,500 classrooms. Schools that make the pledge between this week and March 4 will automatically be entered into Bounty's "We Love Our School" sweepstakes for a chance to win a celebrity-designed $50,000 school makeover. The first 500 schools to take the pledge will also receive a Bounty Clean Kit with enough Bounty and Mr. Clean product to clean all of their classrooms, along with a cleaning checklist.
