During an event to celebrate the Award Winners of the Stuffed Cabbage World Championship, chefs from the United States and Canada showcased their culinary skills and stuffed cabbage recipes.

The event was hosted in New York at the Institute of Culinary Education by the Stuffed Cabbage Association with a jury, led by its president Chef Daniel Boulud, who named Guillaume Ginther, winner of the Americas selection.

Chef Guillaume Ginther, a French Chef based in New York for 9 years, shared

”Stuffed cabbage holds a special place in the repertoire of French classics I love. I’ve been making it for quite some time now, and I really enjoy it.

My recipe is fairly traditional, but I added a unique twist with some North African spices and condiments. I had to find the harmony between the traditional flavor and that little burst of tartness and spice.”

Chef Guillaume Ginther has now qualified for the final of the first Stuffed Cabbage World Championship, taking place on November 18, 2024, in Limoges, France, a city reknown for its porcelain including event host Bernardaud.

THE STUFFED CABBAGE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

In 2023, Maison Bernardaud joined forces with the Francophone consortium Les Artcutiers. Together, they are now organizing the first Stuffed Cabbage World Championship with the intention of crowning the best stuffed cabbage in the world.

On November 18, 2024, the first edition of the World Stuffed Cabbage Championship will take place, bringing together the five winners from the regional selections (France, Americas, Japan, Asia, Europe). Each participant will need to present their personal recipe: a whole stuffed cabbage weighing between 1.2 kg (2,65lbs) and 1.6 kg (3,52lbs)(finished product), showcasing both creativity and culinary expertise.

The selections are held in New York, Tokyo and Paris in September and October 2024 under contest conditions, while the other two committees are evaluated by file submissions, all under the scrutiny of a prestigious jury of professionals.
