Liberty Science Center will take visitors back to year 1912 and the voyage of the Titanic when TITANIC: The Artifact Exhibition opens Friday, February 15, featuring more than 130 real artifacts recovered from the “unsinkable” ship’s resting place in the North Atlantic Ocean.

Upon entry, visitors will receive a replica boarding pass and assume the role of an actual passenger from the maiden, and last, voyage, while following the journey of life on Titanic, from the Ship’s construction to life on board and all the way to the infamous sinking.

Also covered in the exhibition is the effort to recover thousands of artifacts and the conservation of the wreckage site for scientific analysis and historical preservation, ensuring that future generations will continue to learn from the Titanic.

“A seminal moment in world history, people continue to be amazed more than a century later by the story of the Titanic’s ill-fated journey to New York City,” said Paul Hoffman, President and CEO of Liberty Science Center. “Visitors can take in the majestic nature of the Ship, learn the science behind why it sank, and discover exactly how the artifacts have been recovered and preserved for all this time.”

Featured throughout the exhibition are re-created rooms from the Titanic, jewelry and clothing accessories brought aboard by passengers, and other genuine artifacts such as champagne bottles, chandeliers, and the logometer, which was used to track the distance the ship travelled each day and still shows the reading from the night she went down.

Ideal for all ages, the exhibition also features a 7-foot-tall replica of an iceberg, giving a physical example of the temperatures the passengers faced.

TITANIC: The Artifact Exhibition is a premium exhibition, requiring an additional ticket along with purchase of Science Center admission.
